One of Russia’s richest players is also a PokerStars Pro.  Ivan Demidov was the runner-up in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event, pocketing a massive $5.8 million plus!  Not bad for second place.  It was no fluke though.  During the down time between deciding the WSOP final table and actually playing it in November, Demidov went to Europe to play in the World Series of Poker tournament.  There he landed on the final table of the Main Event as well, pocketing nearly $609,000 for his third place finish.  Pretty good year for Mr. Demidov indeed!
